Get ready to be welcomed with open arms to Routes KL 2008.

Malaysia will have the honour as the first Asian country to host The World Route Development Forum (Routes KL 2008) from October 12-14, 2008 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

This prestigious event will showcase Malaysia as both a rising player in the aviation industry as well as an emerging and key MICE destination.

The forum's host, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), had competed with regional countries for Routes KL 2008 and its hosting of a similar forum on a regional level gave it the edge.

MAHB has lined up an exciting programme for the delegates of Routes KL 2008. It will offer, for the first time, a spouse and family programme to encourage delegates to have a holiday in Malaysia before or after the event.

Additionally, MAHB hopes that hosting the forum will highlight the KL International Airport as an attractive regional aviation hub and attract new airlines to Malaysia.

Routes chairman and founder Mike Howarth expects Routes KL 2008 to be a bigger and better affair, adding "I've got the highest regards for the airport management there.”

MAHB is going all out to ensure the success of Routes KL 2008 with an impressive roster of partners such as Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur, Petronas, Media Prima, Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd, KL Airport Services Sdn Bhd, Tourism Malaysia, Ministry of Tourism, Sepang International Circuit, Ministry of Culture, Arts & Heritage, Sri Sutra Travel and Malaysia Airlines to help promote both the event and the country at large.
