MALAYSIA AIRPORTS LAUNCHES 25TH ANNIVERSARY SHOPPING CAMPAIGN WITH TOTAL PRIZES WORTH OVER RM2.5 MILLION

SEPANG - Malaysia Airports unveiled their 25th Anniversary Shopping Campaign, with total prizes worth over RM2.5 million worth of exciting prizes up for grabs, earlier this afternoon at KL International Airport (KLIA). The announcement marked the start of many wonderful offerings available at its airports in conjunction with the company's silver jubilee celebration.

According to Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, Managing Director of Malaysia Airports, “We owe much of our success to our passengers. Recognising this, we are pleased to reward our airport users through our annual shopping campaign. This campaign is aimed at giving travellers and visitors the opportunity to discover further the many options available at our airports, and at the same time be handsomely rewarded for their spending.”

With a minimum spend of RM250 at any participating outlets, customers will stand a chance to win one of many fabulous prizes. Among others, Malaysia Airports will be giving away monthly prizes in the form of return tickets to selected dream destinations. First Prize winners will enjoy priceless Mastercard travel experiences to London and Paris on business class flights while the surprise Grand Prize will be revealed on 1June 2017. The prizes are sponsored by its airline partners - Malaysia Airlines, Malindo Air and AirAsia as well as Mastercard, which serves as the official card for the shopping campaign. Customers who make purchases using their Mastercard card will double their chances of winning.

On the collaboration with Malaysia Airports, Mr Perry Ong, Country Manager – Malaysia and Brunei, Mastercard said, “We are delighted to collaborate with Malaysia Airports to continually offer exciting rewards through this campaign for our cardholders to embark on a unique experience as they shop and travel. Recognising the growth of international arrivals in Malaysia with Kuala Lumpur ranking 5th on our Asia Pacific Destination Index 2017, we are always looking to develop more strategic opportunities to ensure that our cardholders who are avid travellers have access to a wide array of Mastercard rewards and benefits.”

Over the last two and half decades, Malaysia Airports has achieved many successes including international recognition as one of the best airport operators in the world and is currently well on its way to becoming a strong connectivity hub within the region.

Badlisham had also added that this anniversary shopping campaign is also a gesture of appreciation to its concessionaires who have helped them fulfil their mission of ensuring a joyful experience for airport visitors. Efforts in increasing retail spend at the airports had resulted in sales increasing by 56% over the last five years with over RM2.1 billion spent just last year alone.

Malaysia Airports is endeavouring to take its travellers’ shopping experience to a completely new level. As such, it will continue to strive to create great experiences for travellers by providing better dining and shopping experience at all its airports.

Over the years, Malaysia Airports has widened its range of retail and food outlets especially at its international airports and at the same time continue to embrace technology and innovation for a more enhanced and joyful shopping experience.

This 25th Anniversary Shopping Campaign is available at all international airports – KLIA (including klia2) Penang International Airport, Langkawi International Airport, Kota Kinabalu International Airport and Kuching International Airport.
