KLIA Community Gathers for 1st Ever KLIA Telematch

Sepang, 17 May 2008 - About 500 people comprising of KL International Airport (KLIA) community gathered today in the first ever KLIA Telematch, held in
conjunction with the celebration of KLIA's 10th anniversary.
Participants from Malaysia Airports, government and private agencies pitted their brains and brawns in games such as gunny sack race, dice race and baggage run. The games were divided into three categories - VIP, Children and Adult.
Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Aris Othman, Chairman of Malaysia Airports said: "Apart from celebrating KLIA s 10th anniversary, this telematch also aims to strengthen relationship between all the agencies and also as an avenue to built further camaraderie by networking in a relaxed environment.
He added: "This is also a healthy way of spending the weekend with families and friends, and in the meantime, take home some prizes from the games organised. This Telematch shows the other side of KLIA of not just an airport - but also a place for recreational and family activities."
On KLIA celebrating its 10th anniversary, Tan Sri Aris Othman said: "It is indeed pleasing to watch KLIA blossom throughout these 10 years to become one of the well-known airports in the world, and along the way, winning the World's Best Airport for three consecutive times. I have no doubt that KLIA will continue to evolve and maintain its position as among the best in the world.
A host of activities have been planned through 2008 to celebrate KLIA's 10th anniversary. Other activities coming up include KLIA Dinner and Treasure Hunt.
An exhibition on the history of KLIA is currently ongoing at Level 5, Main Terminal Building (near Door 5 and 6). The exhibition showcases the history and development of KLIA since its opening in 1998.
