SIBU AIRPORT RESUMES NORMAL OPERATIONS

We are pleased to inform that runway recovery works at Sibu Airport is now complete and the airport had resumed normal operations at 0000 hours, 10 April 2017, with the first flight commencing operations 0928 hours this morning.
The runway had earlier been damaged on 8 April 2017 when a Malaysia Airlines aircraft, MH2718, skidded upon landing.
Due to the runway closure and subsequent recovery works, a total of 48 flights and 3,787 passengers were affected.
Malaysia Airports had collaborated closely with all relevant agencies and partner airlines to ensure minimum inconvenience to the passengers and that safety remained our utmost priority.
Passengers are advised to check with their respective airlines to confirm on their flight status.
