Malaysia Airports To Commence Airport Consultancy Services In China

Sepang, 21 October 2011 - Malaysia Airports officially commences its operations in China after its subsidiary, Malaysia Airports
Consultancy Services Sdn. Bhd. (MACS) signed the Letter of Award for the provision of airport consultancy services for Lingling Airport in the Hunan
Province in China.
The Letter of Award will enable Malaysia Airports to start its provision of consultancy services which include airport project development plan study, airport planning, operation, management, development, business development and investment for Lingling Airport.
The Letter of Award was signed yesterday between MACS and Nagamas Enterprise (HK) Limited (NEHK) Consortium with Huizhou City Longji Mazhong Real Estate Developement Co. Ltd Consortium in conjunction with the Yongzhou ASEAN Business and Investment Promotion Conference held in Nanning, China on 20-23 October 2011. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Y.B. Dato' Sri Peter Chin Fah Kui, Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water. MACS was represented by Y. Bhg. Dato' Abd Hamid Mohd Ali, Chief Operating Officer of Malaysia Airports while Y. Bhg. Dato' Grace Oyan, Executive Director of Nagamas International Bhd, represented NEHK.
The exchange of documents was held today witnessed by YAB Prime Minister, Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Hj. Abdul Razak.
Y.Bhg. Tan Sri Bashir Ahmad, Managing Director of Malaysia Airports said, "In line with Malaysia Airports' commitment to the fundamental objective of long term growth, Malaysia Airports, through MACS, continues to pursue opportunities in the development, operation and management of airport overseas. Today marks another milestone for us, as we will be taking another big step in our overseas venture."
Tan Sri Bashir added, "Malaysia Airports sees this strategic alliance with NEHK as an ideal platform for Malaysia Airports to further expand and galvanise our overseas ventures. China is progressing rapidly and we are elated to contribute our expertise in terms of aviation consultancy."
In July last year, MACS entered into an MoU with Nagamas Enterprise (HK) Limited to explore possibilities of providing airport operation, management and technical consultancy services to the Yongzhou Lingling Airport in Hunan Province as well as other airports in China. Last month, both companies sealed the joint venture agreement for the same scope.
Malaysia Airports' other overseas ventures are in India (Delhi and Hyderabad International Airports), in Turkey (Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport) and in Maldives (Male International Airport).
