TURKISH AIRLINES CONTINUES TO EXPAND ITS NETWORK

Europe’s best airline*, Turkish Airlines, adds Kuala Lumpur to its growing network, as from 25th April...

 

Already having the world's fourth largest flight network and flying to 221 flight destinations in 98 countries, Turkish Airlines continues to grow by adding flights to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

 

Beginning 25th April 2013, roundtrip flights between Istanbul and Kuala Lumpur will be operated three times per week on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Introductory round trip fares are available from Istanbul to Kuala Lumpur starting from RM 2,140 (including taxes and fees).

 

The inaugural flight TK060 departed Istanbul Atatürk Airport, Turkey, 1:15AM (Istanbul Time) for Kuala Lumpur, representing the first Turkish Airline flight to Kuala Lumpur since 2002, when flights were routed via Bangkok. Flight TK 060 arrived at Gate C2 of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at 4:50PM (Kuala Lumpur Time) to a water cannon salute.

 

The A343-3000 aircraft had a total of 270 passengers and 9 crew members on board. Among the VIPs on board the flight were Ismail Gercek, Member of the Board, Turkish Airlines, Mehmet Nuri Yazıcı, Member of the Board, Turkish Airlines, Ahmet Olmuştur, Senior Vice President for Revenue Management, Turkish Airlines, Ufuk Ugur, Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Asia and Far East, Turkish Airlines and Y. Bhg. Dato’ Mirza Mohd Taiyab, Director General of Tourism Malaysia.

 

Passengers arrived to a cultural performance, organised by Tourism Malaysia, and were greeted by H.E Ms Serap Ataay, Ambassador of Turkey in Malaysia, Datin Normasila Musa, Director, International Promotion Division for Americas, Europe and Oceania of Tourism Malaysia, Y. Bhg. Tan Sri Bashir Ahmad, Managing Director of Malaysia Airports, Y. Bhg. Dato’ Azmi Murad, Senior General Manager of Operations Services Malaysia Airports, and Mr. Firat Yildirim, General Manager of Turkish Airlines Malaysia.

Turkish Airlines offers a wider range of on- and off-board services that will make flying with the airline a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Flights between the two cities will be increased to four times weekly with the addition of a Wednesday flight beginning 17th June 2013.
