FLIGHT PK898 AIRCRAFT CLEARED OF EXPLOSIVES

SEPANG – Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Airbus 310 Flight PK898 from Lahore to KL International Airport (KLIA) that landed safely at KL International Airport (KLIA) at 9.34pm on 7 September has been inspected by Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM) and declared safe and clean of any explosives.

 

At 1.05 am PDRM completed the search inside the cabin and the cargo hold, and declared the aircraft to be cleared of any explosive materials.

 

A total of 164 passengers were on board the aircraft and while the passenger interrogation is being conducted by PDRM, Malaysia Airports is doing its best to make sure that all passengers are made comfortable during the process. Mineral water and meal vouchers are being provided to passengers. 

 

The checked-in luggage have been offloaded from the cargo compartment and screening of the luggage will be performed by the Bomb Disposal Unit and the K-nine Unit.

 

Malaysia Airports would like to ensure that there will be no disruption to other flights and that the operations at KLIA are running normally.
