FLIGHT PK898, LAHORE-KUALA LUMPUR BOMB THREAT

SEPANG – At 8.45 pm this evening Malaysia Airports received information from Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Headquarters informing of an aircraft bomb warning for Airbus 313 Flight PK898 from Lahore to KL International Airport(KLIA). 

 

The KLIA operations alerted all relevant agencies and activated its Airport Emergency Plan to prepare to handle the emergency.

 

The flight PK898 safely landed at KLIA Runway 32L at 9.24pm. The airline confirmed a total of 164 passengers, 3 cockpit crew and 10 cabin crew on board. All passengers have disembarked from the aircraft safely. All passengers are currently secured at a holding lounge and the passenger screening process is now ongoing.

 

The aircraft is parked at the isolated parking bay at KLIA and investigation and inspection of the aircraft is being conducted by Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM).  

 

There are no disruptions to other flights and operations at KLIA are as normal.
