Malaysia Airpots Announces New Chairman

Sepang, 28 June 2012 - Malaysia Airports would like to announce the appointment of Y.Bhg. Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. Wan Abdul Aziz bin Wan Abdullah as the Chairman of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad and its subsidiaries effective 7 June 2012.

Currently the Secretary General of Treasury at the Ministry of Finance, Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. Wan Abdul Aziz has vast experiences in finance, banking and economics and has held several senior positions at the Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister's Department, Ministry of Finance and World Bank Group in USA. Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. Wan Abdul Aziz holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Universiti Malaya, M.Phil in Developmental Studies from University of Sussex, UK and Ph.D (Economics) from University of Leeds, UK.

Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. Wan Abdul Aziz also has directorships at Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA), Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (KWAP), MISC Berhad, Inland Revenue Board, Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad, Malaysian Airline System Berhad (MAS), Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM), Pelaburan Hartanah Bumiputera Berhad, and Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB). He also sits on the Board of Executive Directors of the Islamic Development Bank Group in Jeddah.

The appointment succeeded Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Aris Othman whose last day as Chairman at Malaysia Airports was on 6 June 2012.
