Coway Sponsors Air Purifiers to KLIA - Coway Implements Corporate Social Responsibilities Through Clean Air Zone Campaign

Kuala Lumpur, 31 March 2011 - Coway the leading home - wellness appliances manufacturer - today signed a sponsorship agreement with Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (Malaysia Airports) in conjunction with Coway Clean Air Zone Campaign, witnessed by YBhg. Dr. Lokman Hakim B. Sulaiman, Director of Disease Control Division, Ministry of Health.

The signing ceremony is a launching point for Coway's Clean Air Zone Campaign, with the aim to support government's effort in promoting healthier living, and in the meantime, for Coway to exercise its corporate social responsibilities. KLIA has been selected as the first partner under this campaign by receiving 30 units of sponsored air purifiers, which cost approximately RM120, 000.

"In Korea, Coway is not merely well known through its quality home appliances, but also for its efforts in social responsibilities such as the Clean Yugu River Campaign and the Well Digging Project in Cambodia, which have become a benchmark for other corporate entities," said James Park Jae-Young, Managing Director of Coway Malaysia.

He added:"Coway Malaysia has determined to extend this corporate culture in local society too. I am confident that this sponsorship will deliver its benefits to public and further increase the public awareness towards the importance of clean air".

On behalf of KLIA, YBhg Tan Sri Bashir Ahmad, the Managing Director of Malaysia Airports said, "We are very appreciative of this Ministry of Healthâs initiative and pleased to be the first Government-Linked Company (GLC) to participate in Coway's Clean Air Zone campaign.

In his speech, he also said, truly believe, that with the installation of these air filtration products at the KLIA, we would not only be improving KLIA's image among our passengers but we would also be delivering our promise in creating a clean, healthy and secure environment at our airport."

He added, "While it is still a long way for us to go, it is heartening to see that we have made great inroads in creating the awareness on the importance of preserving a clean air for our passengers and visitors. We truly appreciate and laud Cowayâs contribution to this Clean Air Zone campaign and hope that this initiative will be the start of a great partnership between us."
