07 December 2017
SEPANG- Malaysia Airports continues to put the safety and security of its users as top priority at all of its airports nationwide by ensuring the effectiveness of the measures and procedures taken in the event of accident, security threats or natural disasters through scheduled simulated table top exercises. These exercises will not only involve the airport community but also all related agencies responsible for national security.
We have two upcoming exercises at KLIA’s second terminal, klia2 and Sandakan Airport on 9 December 2017 and 15 December 2017 respectively. These two exercises specifically focus on threats in the form of acts of aggression that may occur in an airport environment. Agencies that will be involve in these exercises include Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN), Agensi Pengurusan Bencana Negara (NADMA), Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia (JaPen), Jabatan Perdana Menteri (JPM), Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM), Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM), Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat (JBPM), Jabatan Sukarelawan Malaysia (RELA), Jabatan Penerbangan Awam (DCA), Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM), Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM) and Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM) as well as airlines at the airports.
We would like to reassure airport users who will be passing through these two abovementioned airports that these are just simulated exercises meant to enhance our readiness during emergency situations. Safety measures will be strictly observed at all times throughout the exercise period.
